Portraits represent the artist's start with photographs since she first got a camera in the late 90's, and it is also a way she finds to communicate current issues, also a way to interact with people and to be able to learn about their cultures, their stories and their lives. These photographs include images from fictitious characters, strangers, friends, families to commissions and personalities, who are mostly in the arts, humanitarian or environmental fields.

JULI MANARA
Juli Manara is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist working in photography, moving images, and installation. Her work explores the relationship between humans and the natural world, blending landscapes, botanical studies, portraiture, and symbolic figures into immersive, often fantastical compositions. Manara’s work has been collected and exhibited internationally at venues including the Niterói Museum of Contemporary Art and Tate Modern. In 2023, her first short animation, made from recycled paper and photographic fragments, was selected for the United Nations Sustainable Film Awards and was projected at Piccadilly Circus.
In 2025, she was invited to lead the Royal Academy of Arts' first photography short course and created a series of outdoor billboard works across London for them. Her collaboration with The Macallan, a renowned whisky brand recognised for its sustainable approach, resulted in a large-scale forest triptych for the brand’s boutique at Heathrow International Airport.
Juli holds an MA from Goldsmiths University and has taught extensively at Speos International Photography School.
The artist currently lives and works between London, UK and São Paulo, Brazil.
