Souvenir from Rio, 2023 / 2026 Inspired by a trip to Rio de Janeiro, this print transforms the moment into an imagined landscape incorporating Brazilian history. The artwork blends the iconic silhouette of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) atop Corcovado with the Brazilian aviation pioneer Santos-Dumont’s legendary 14-bis aircraft, stealing the statue from the landscape, in a surreal cloud-filled sky. Created as a playful video installation for a past exhibition at the Embassy of Brazil in London, this piece was a special request from a friend, and is now released as a limited edition of 99 prints on archival museum cotton paper, and individually signed and numbered.
