Portraits represent the artist's start with photographs since she first got a camera in the late 90's, and it is also a way she finds to communicate current issues, also a way to interact with people and to be able to learn about their cultures, their stories and their lives. These photographs include images from fictitious characters, strangers, friends, families to commissions and personalities, who are mostly in the arts, humanitarian or environmental fields.

Guest Lecturer
IIt was a great honor to lead a creative photography workshop at the Royal Academy of Arts in London as part of its educational program, linked to the major exhibition Brasil! Brasil! The Birth of Modernism. The talks and experimental practices included research on modernist influences, as well as demonstrations with lighting and equipment. It was the first photography short course at the Royal Academy of Arts since it was founded in 1768.

Studio Lecturer / London
With eight years of lecturing at Spéos International Photography School in London, Juli Manara has mentored hundreds of international students from lighting techniques to project direction. The experience led Juli to continue with talks and workshops in several other places, such as museums or corporations, extending her learning to a wider audience.
